ALİ BERKMAN

Born in 1985 in İstanbul. He met with light in his father’s atelier, where they have been producing lighting fix– turesduring his secondary school years. In 2008, he graduated from Yeditepe University Electrical and Electronics EngineeringDepartment. After working in a company on independent lighting design consultancy between 2009-2014, he foundedONOFF Lighting Design in 2014. ONOFF team was responsible for the lighting design of over 120 projects at differentscales and typologies from Africa to Europe, worldwide. In 2017 he was among the 40 designers chosen within the scopeof the ‘’40under40’’ Lighting Design Awardsin London. He has talked over many conferences at various universitiesabout light and protecting darkness. With the Sparkle Acoustic Lighting Collection he designed for Feltouch in 2020, he was deemed worthy of the 2021 European Product Design Award and Desin Turkey’s good design awards. He is currentlyteaching “Lighting Design” as a lecturer at Fatih Sultan Mehmet University.
